Dr David Drake is Founder and CEO of The Moment Institute in Portland, Oregon USA — global leaders in the transformative development of practitioners and professional practice. He is most well-known as the founder of narrative coaching, and he has taught this work to over 20,000 practitioners in over 40 countries.
His pioneering work in Integrative Development offers a profoundly new theory of learning and development. David has used this work to support change and coaching initiatives in 70 organizations. Clients include Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Dropbox, Google, Logitech, Nike, PwC, and numerous government agencies in the US and Australia.
David is a Thought Leader for the Institute of Coaching at Harvard, and he has been a leader in the coaching space since the 1990s. He has presented to 25 universities and professional associations around the world, including the opening keynote for the first International Coaching Psychology Congress in London.
He earned his PhD in Human & Organizational Development from Fielding Graduate University in California. He is the author of 60+ publications on coaching, including as co-editor of SAGE Handbook of Coaching (2016) and author of Narrative Coaching: The Definitive Guide to Bringing New Stories to Life (2018).
