It is becoming apparent that 20th-century psychology has revealed little to no consensus of what a ‘person’ is or how the ‘self’ acts as the central integrator of the whole-of-life experience.

In this session, you’ll discover how applied neuroscience provides new understandings of human and organisational behaviour that have direct value for coaching. Examine the shift from descriptions of behaviour to the beginnings of explanations, and how the brain functions as the organ of adaptation.

  • Knowing enough about the way the brain works in making each of us the person that we each are to want to know more.
  • Beginning to see the possibility of a journey into becoming a brain-based coach or, equally, knowing enough to know that one doesn’t want to.
  • Acquiring enough knowledge to sense that one has a working understanding of how knowledge about the brain (applied neuroscience) could be applied in coaching.
