Julian Treasure

Julian Treasure is an award-winning author and international speaker on sound, conscious listening, powerful speaking and audio branding. His five TED talks, including the sixth most-viewed of all time, have been viewed more than 130 million times. He has been honored with both Toastmasters International’s Golden Gavel Award and the International Listening Associations’s Special Recognition award, and the audiobook version of his book How To Be Heard won both SOVAS and Audie global awards.

Julian’s company The Sound Agency works with major brands worldwide, pioneering the use of ‘Moodsonic’ biophilic soundscapes in retail and hospitality spaces. His book Sound Business is a seminal work on creating effective business sound. His seven-hour online course How To Speak So That People Want To Listen includes modules on public speaking and wellbeing for presenters.

Julian has been widely featured as a sound and communication expert in the world’s media. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a long time musician. He lives in Orkney, Scotland with Jane and their daughters Holly and Sapphire, and is working on a major book about the wonder of sound, to be published in Spring 2024.
