Biography

Gary A. Bolles is acknowledged as a global leader, lecturer, and consultant on the future of work. 

He is the author of “The Next Rules of Work: The mindset, skillset, and toolset to lead your organization through uncertainty.” He serves as the adjunct Chair for the Future of Work for the worldwide learning community Singularity University, specializing in FLOW (future of learning, the organization, and work). And he has nine courses on LinkedIn Learning with over 1 million learners

Bolles is also a partner in the San Francisco consulting firm Charrette LLC, which catalyzes “initiatives with impact” for clients around the world. He is a co-founder of eParachute.com, providing software and courses for job-search and career change. And he is the host of Global Skills Day, a worldwide virtual gathering creating a collaborative vision of a human-centric future of work.

Bolles was trained as a career coach at the age of 19, in the methods of “What Color Is Your Parachute?”, the world’s enduring career manual, authored by his father, Dick Bolles.

He is a longtime Silicon Valley executive and entrepreneur, serving as the Chief Operating Officer for Evolve Software, and the VP Marketing for Network Products Corporation.

He is the co-founder of SoCap, Social Capital Markets, the largest gathering of impact entrepreneurs and investors; DGREE: the future of higher education; Fulcrum: strategies for an inclusive future of work; and Closing The Gap: Strategies for an inclusive economy, and he was a co-founder of the U.S. Broadband Coalition.
